One task at a time → one clear action.
Get dressed. Eat breakfast. Brush teeth. Shoes on.
Simple. Linear. Predictable.
????️ A neurodivergent child’s morning brain (ADHD, autism, AuDHD):
Many thoughts firing at once.
Many “tips” activated simultaneously:
– I need to get dressed
– I’m hungry but I don’t know what I want
– My uniform feels scratchy
– Where are my shoes?
– I forgot my bag
– School feels hard today
– I’m overwhelmed already and it’s only 7AM
This isn’t refusal.
It isn’t laziness.
It’s cognitive overload — too many tasks competing at the same time for a brain that can’t sequence them yet.
