“Amphibian responses to habitat change: Insights from landscape genetics”
About the talk:
This talk will synthesize 20 years of research in the Storfer laboratory focused on understanding the effects of various forms of habitat change on landscape genetics of amphibian populations. The Storfer lab has used a range of landscape genetic methods to study responses to land use change among several species of frogs and salamanders throughout the United States. Studies covering each type of major disturbance will be summarized, including: fire, mixed land use, timber harvest, catastrophic disturbance and climate change. General lessons and insights from landscape genetics, as well as their management implications will conclude the presentation.
