Memphis Zoo conducted its annual 2024 Dusky Gopher Frog Olympics. Famed athletes 'Big Chonky', 'Beef Stroganoff', and 'Kevin' went head to hop in their race to 1st place.
As a joint research collaboration, Dr. Kelly Diamond of Rhodes College Biology and the Memphis Zoo amphibian team led by Dr. Sinlan Poo, Curator of Research, tested how the frog's motion was affected by its environment. As each frog made history by becoming gold medalist jumpers their coaches were there cheering them on as well.
