The hippopotamus is one of the largest and most dangerous animals in Africa. Despite their bulky bodies, they can run up to 30 km/h on land and are incredibly aggressive when threatened. Hippos spend most of their time in rivers and lakes to stay cool, but they’re known to attack boats, crocodiles, and even lions. With their massive jaws and sharp teeth, they’re responsible for more human deaths in Africa than most other wild animals.
