This animal tries to eat its coworkers without even blinking — and it's a pelican! Pelicans are famous for trying to swallow just about anything. To them, there's no such thing as “inedible“ — only things that fit in their mouth, and things that don't. And when your throat pouch is as big as your whole body, there isn't much that doesn't fit. Still, the pouch's real job is to scoop up to 10 liters of water and filter out the fish before swallowing them. But because their soft, net-like beak acts more like a fishing net than a jaw, pelicans can't chew. Whatever they catch — fish or bird — has to go down in a single gulp.
