In this video we discuss how to properly mix and STORE saltwater for your aquarium. Mixed saltwater is generally considered safe for your reef within 5 days of mixing, however, some tests have shown that this period can be as long as 3 weeks!

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY STORE SALTWATER WHICH DOES NOT CONTAIN REEF ADDITIVES. FOR EXAMPLE: STORE RED SEA BLUE BUCKET OR INSTANT OCEAN MIX FOR UP TO 5 DAYS BUT USE INSTANT OCEAN REEF CRYSTALS OR RED SEA CORAL PRO (BLACK BUCKET) WITHIN 48 HOURS OF MIXING!!!! This is very important as Alkalinity dKh is typically only stable for up to 48 hours in the REEF mix of most salt brands!!!
