** edit added in be Shaw of repeated comments- the beavers are not trying to dam the waterfall and have shown no interest at all in it thus far; they are trying to create a lodge under the lip of the opposite side of the enclosure, this has literally nothing to do with water flow or dams or any of the sort. It’s a place to try to make a little den area, which we expected, we just expected to do that with the logs provided, not to dig it out. The waterfall system keeps getting shut off because the leaves from their browse branches keep clogging the intake; we expected them to eat these leaves, instead they’ve ignored them and the leaves are clogging the intake because of no action from the beavers. Not because the beavers are actively trying to clog it, they of course have no understanding of such systems.
