When Keepers noticed a tooth growing out of the bottom of Elvis the crocodile’s jaw, they knew they needed to take a closer look. But as a massive, half-tonne saltwater crocodile, this was one of the biggest challenges they’d ever faced. As the first time Elvis had been captured since his arrival at the Park in 2007, Keepers knew they were in for a dangerous task!
Elvis certainly put Keepers through their paces during the capture, but after a successful dental surgery, removing THREE teeth, Elvis is feeling much better and is recovering well.
Well done to our Keepers and Dr Robin at Somersby Animal Hospital – what a massive effort!
