After 9 months of successfully adding marine livestock to this mixed reef tank without any external filtration (April-December 2020), we decided to introduce Acroporas in December and flow into a new 6 month tank trial using intermittent micro filtration, to reduce dissolved organics and help stabilize pH.
The Staghorn coral, once the dominant and one of the most important coral in the Caribbean with respect to reef habitat, is particularly vulnerable to bleaching and thus is constantly threatened by increasing sea temperatures.
