Tropical aquarium is not a Freshwater aquarium? A Fish Biologist's perspective.

You'll here the terms tropical fish, tropical aquarium, tropical in general used very frequently in the aquarium hobby. It is often wrongly used to refer to freshwater which is a common misconception but lacks a lot of biology or even logic. Marine/saltwater fishes can be tropical too and confusing the terms does cause a lot of issues. At the stem of it what is freshwater? particularly when thinking about salts. Do freshwater ecosystems contain salt?
