Aquazone aquarium services Montréal presents to you:
Welcome to my self-sustaining reef ecosystem aquarium! ????????
This 90-gallon aquarium has been carefully designed to function as a natural, self-sustaining reef environment with minimal reliance on external equipment. A deep, mixed substrate bed (over two inches) and a significant amount of live rock create the foundation for this thriving ecosystem.
Here’s what makes this setup unique:
???? Ecosystem Builders: It’s home to a variety of microorganisms, such as copepods, bristle stars, substrate worms, emerald crabs, and a diverse array of snails that clean the rocks and substrate.
???? Fish Selection: The fish were chosen specifically to support the ecosystem by managing algae and detritus without creating a heavy bioload. This balance helps maintain a clean, healthy tank with minimal algae growth on the glass and equipment.
⚙️ Minimal Equipment: A small skimmer, two wave makers, a power filter, and a hang-on-back AquaClear 110 filter provide basic support, while an AP700 Kessil light runs for 10 hours daily to promote growth.
The result is a naturally balanced, low-maintenance reef environment that requires little intervention. I hope this video inspires you to create your own natural aquascapes for your reef tanks.
