Three spot gourami care guide. Species profile on the blue gourami.

Origin :
The three spot gourami originate from Southeast Asia from Malaysia, Singapore , Thailand and Sumatra. The three spot gourami is also called as the opaline gourami or blue gourami in common parlance. People get confused between gold and blue gouramis, they are the same variety just difference color variations.
Gender Difference :
There is only one way to identify male female gouramis. The males have pointed dorsal fins whereas the females have rounded dorsal fins
Tank Setup :
A planted aquarium with lots of floating plants and dense vegetation is ideal for the three spot gourami. But u can also keep them in a normal decor aquarium but provide them with hiding places as they are shy fish.
Compatability :
The three spot gourami is known to be a bit of semi aggressive to other tankmates or other gouramis. Keep them with tetras , rasboras , rainbowfish , etc. Do not keep them with goldfish , angelfish, barbs , and bettas or other gourami varieties.
Water Parameters :
The three spot gourami prefer softer water ranging from 5.5 to 7 PH but they are adaptable and will accept wide range of water parameters.  Temperature should be between 26°C to 28°C
Lifespan :
The three spot gourami  live for about 4 to 5 years in captivity
Food :
Give them with pellets , flakes ,bloodworms, live foods etc.
