We recently discovered UVB can pass through our Humidity Plus™ Terrarium Covers!
While testing the output of the UVB bulbs in the showroom we happened to test a unit that was situated over a cover, and to our surprise got exposure readings! The cover does cut the UVB output in half, so we would not recommend this for anything with a medium to high UVB requirement. However, for your more shade dwelling and humidity loving species, like Dart Frogs, this can be an effective solution to provide a bit of UVB exposure while maintaining high humidity.
There are still a lot of variables that can influence the UVB your animal may experience in a scenario like this, like the age of the cover and the physical precipitate on the cover itself so above all we would highly recommend monitoring your fixtures with a UVI meter.
