I never expected this jar to mature the way it did. It started out with a couple stems and perfectly clean sand. Over time the plants grew, so I trimmed and replanted the stems. More and more detritus built up on the substrate. After many many months this jar became overgrown. Whenever I look at it, I want to take everything out and start over again. Then I get reminded of the time it took to get to this point, so I leave it alone.
