There are many "Fascinating" and "Beneficial" creatures that regularly go unseen by most people. Salamanders are “Amphibians”, ancestors of the long gone prehistoric two meter long “Metoposaurus Algarvensis”. A two meter long fossil found in Southern Portugal, that lived during the one hundred and fifty year reign of the dinosaurs. While New Brunswick's salamanders are not very big, they do provide a much needed service in our ecosystem. They help control untold numbers of insects, snails, spiders and even other salamanders. And they in turn, provide food to many "other' animals in natures continuous re-cycling plan. I've been fortunate to come across many of these over the years. Their pretty cool!
