Algae often develops on slow-growing plants such as the Anubias, Buce and Java Fern varieties because they cannot outcompete the algae fast enough in consuming nutrients in the water.

You can help AVOID algae and diatoms from developing on your aquatic plant leaves by keeping them free from the settling gunk and dirt. ???????????? Simply wiggle and tickle the leaves gently with a stick or plant tweezers to shoo away the resting dirt. If still possible, increase the water movement / inflow / circulation in the tank. ????

But of course, nothing beats algae better than regularly doing your water changes, siphoning out detritus, and keeping the entire tank clean.???????? #theindoorwetlands ????????
