Spring is here and as exciting as that is, it means there is an enormous amount of work to do at GST. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were prepping our turtles and tortoises for winter but now, somehow, we're welcoming them back, as they wake up for the 2022 season. Dead vegetation must be cut back, ponds need to be drained and filled, greenhouses have to be opened and our reptiles need to have a clear path to getting "back to normal". Running and owning a reptile facility is no joke and this time of year means the work load is intense. What makes things even more challenging is when one of us has to report to work everyday while the other juggles being a mother of 2, on top of having to get crucial tasks done around the property. Our animals are priority but when they wake up, the ones in the wild wake up too meaning Chris has to spend his days in the field working as a herpetologist as Casey tries to run a tight ship at GST making sure that both family and reptiles stay happy and healthy.
