This is a Brilliant Forest Frog or Warszewitsch's frog (Lithobates warszewitschii). This one shows some of the beautiful green patches that can cover the back of some specimens. It can exhibit numerous color patterns in the wild with the most stunning being a large patch of black along the sides of the head which this one lacks. These mainly live near forest streams but can survive in moist forest away from running water when it rains enough. They live from Honduras to Panama and flourish in Costa Rica. These are from the class Amphibia, order Anura, family Ranidae, genus Lithobates and species L. warszewitschii.
