Tips & Tricks: All about reptile & amphibian heating - Creating bioavailable wavelengths of heat

Welcome to the Bio Dude Youtube Channel. This was a video that Mariah and my self were really looking forward to doing together. In this video we discuss the importance of heating with reptiles, amphibians and arachnids. How reptiles take in heat, thermoregulate and how different wavelengths of InfaRed can impact the overall care of your pet. What is the difference between infrared wavelengths and which is more effective with heating my enclosure and keeping my reptile warm? Which is more effective for subcutaneous immersion and for creating microclimates? What are the best types of fixtures for specific bulbs to use? What is the best combination of Infa Red wavelengths for the best care for herps that love to bask? These are questions that we cover and answer to the best of our ability.

We hope that this video clarifies some of the miscues of reptile keeping when it comes to UTH, CHE and other types of heating apparatus' commonly used in the hobby today. The only bulb we did not cover is the DHP bulbs. We always recommend using a thermostat for all heating elements, especially CHEs and UTH.
