Winter is here and so is the disease season in ornamental fishes! As the temperatures drop down, the metabolic activity of the fishes also drops down in order to preserve body heat. This makes them vulnerable to many parasitic and fungal infections which can quickly turn fatal. This video shows some simple and easy steps every fishkeeper must take to ensure their fishes stay warm and healthy in the season of cold! Ensure that you feed them in control, do careful water changes and get a good quality water heater to keep the temperatures up. Apart from this you can also -
1. Insulate the sides and back side of the tank with thermocol or foam sheets to reduce heat dissipation.
2. Cover tour tanks with lid to trap heat and maintain temperature
3. Keep the tanks on shelves and racks & avoid ground contact hence reducing heat loss to ground via conduction.
.
If you have any other tips drop them in the comments and share this video with your friends to spread the word.
