Test, test, test. I had quite a few aquarium problems and still have some. From past experienced Vallis and Swords grow fine in aquarium sand with a root tab. Its not the substrate or the lights. Its the water. Check kh, iron, potassium, nitrate the list goes on. Im hoping for some good results looking at some of the new grow and its ice green colour. Let's see.
