???? 1. Housing and Cage Setup:

Guinea pig: Minimum 2×3 feet cage for one, bigger for pairs
Mouse: Small but secure cage with narrow bars to prevent escape
Use solid flooring (no mesh or wire) to prevent foot injuries

Use paper bedding or aspen shavings (never pine or cedar — harmful fumes)
Keep bedding clean and dry — change 2–3 times a week
????️ Temperature:
Ideal range: 20°C to 24°C
Keep away from direct sunlight, fans, or AC vents
No sudden temperature changes
???? 2. Diet & Nutrition:
???? Guinea Pig:
Needs Vitamin C daily (cannot produce it naturally)

❌ Avoid: Onion, garlic, potato, iceberg lettuce
???? Mouse:
Balanced lab blocks or pellets, occasional seeds & grains
✅ Add: Apple slices, cucumber (small quantity)

???? 3. Cleanliness & Hygiene:
Clean cage thoroughly every 2–3 days
Wash food bowls and water bottles daily
Keep pet’s fur clean; do not bathe unless vet advises
Trim nails (only if overgrown), brush long-haired guinea pigs regularly
???? 4. Health Monitoring & Signs of Illness:
Watch for:
Loss of appetite
Watery eyes/nose
Diarrhea or constipation
Hair loss, itching, or wounds
Less activity or hiding all day

Speak softly, avoid loud noises
Social animals — keep in pairs (same gender to avoid breeding)
