Four weeks ago I added botanicals to a new ecosystem/biotope build, including a lotus seed pod. It sat ignored for 2 weeks, and then suddenly all the big Ramshorn snails in the tank took a keen interest. Maybe the seeds, after soaking, released some sugars or something that the snails like? Whatever it is, they've been swarming the pod non-stop for the past 2 weeks.
