In this video we can see American Toads calling and watch their calls vibrate the water.

All toads are frogs but not all frogs are toads. They are both amphibians without tails that like to jump; in the order Anura. We can also identify toad and frog species based on their calls.

They can produce various calls, for different purposes. Most toads and frogs are able make loud calls by expanding their vocal sacs. Some species even have more than one sac.

During the mating season females will observe and listen for different signs including, volume, frequency and location, when finding a good mate. A good location means that more of her young will survive.
