Can Frogs Fly? The Gliding Tree Frog #shorts #animals #animalshorts #knowledge #animalfacts #nationalgeographic #natgeo #frog

This is a species of frog that can fly through the air, called Gliding Tree Frog. Well, not really fly, but glide. But still, that's pretty cool.
The gliding tree frog is found in the humid forests of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador. It is a nocturnal frog that lives in the tree canopy, where it climbs and leaps from branch to branch. It can glide while leaping by spreading out its hands and feet, which have webbing between the fingers and toes. Some flying frogs glide as far as 40 or 50 feet as they descend by stages from the treetops to vegetation lower down. Usually they slide to avoid predators.
The gliding tree frog is an amazing animal, unfortunately, it is threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and agriculture.
