What an amazing day herping with Nature in Your Face! Check out their channel and Instagram. I'm a subscriber to both and highly recommend their stuff.

We headed to the mountains to look for a few lifers for them. The California Newt and the Two-striped Garter Snake. While the snakes evaded us we found plenty of Newts, 20 to be exact. We also spotted a number of California Tree Frogs and a bunch of Black-bellied Slender Salamanders. And right before we had to part ways two Southern Alligator Lizards showed up.

And as always, if you want to learn how to identify what you see in the field, check out Schechter Natural History's Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians.
