HILUX SURF Diesel 4x4 Rebuild Series Part 9 I have cold feet on boring it!

In this video I become very unsure about taking this engine to have it bored and sleeved. There is an uneasiness in me. Number 4 cylinder is my biggest concern so while a friend is hanging out we put in a new top ring , level it out and measure the end gap. It turns out to be well within max tolerance. This means if I remove the pitted top area aka as the ridge and hone the cylinder itself to remove scratches the cylinder is in rebuild-able state. I can't locate ridge reamer but luckily the hone I ordered just arrived.

In this series I will be rebuilding the 2LTE 2.4 liter diesel in our 1992 Hilux Surf also known as a 4runner in some countries. Most 4runners was gas( petrol) not diesel. I will be also adding and inter-cooler on the turbo again but this time fitting it in front instead of over the top of the motor. I will be upgrading the cooling system and building a new air conditioning system.
The truck will get new clutch , pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing. The fuel tank will get pulled out and the sensor repaired in the tank since for many years we never know how much fuel we have. I will be replacing brake lines and remapping the location of many items.
