Birds of prey are instantly recognized as predators. They are built to hunt and are some of the fastest animals on Earth. Martin Tyner was once curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, California and is closer to these birds than we are ever likely to be. He shares his life and even his home with some very unusual bird friends. As well as a trainer of all types of animals for TV and film work Martin now heads the Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah, where he helps raptors and other creatures return to the wild. See how he works with amazing birds, including a golden eagle named Scout with a six-foot wingspread.
We meet some of the most majestic birds of prey in the world, and, while small and furry may not seem frightening, we'll meet some compact critters that many forget are predator pets that can pack a powerful bite; a bite they're not shy about inflicting. This week's episode of Predator Pets holds some real surprises.
