My New Laetacaras have finally done the business and have spawned, I’m not 100% ready for this so unfortunately this batch may not survive… these are in the 3ft aquarium with the bush fish, elephant nose, and breeding pair of Bristlenose plecos… chance of survival is small but once I have moved some things around and potentially replant the tank, we should get some good breeding results.
The planted fish tank they’re in is a great environment for them to breed in but the predators in the tank doesn’t make it possible for fry to grow up.
They’re in a hard tap water tank with about 10 different aquatic plants in, temperature range is 28-30, Ammonia and nitrite at 0, nitrate around 5.
They’re a greed breeding project for anyone who doesn’t have a huge tank, as these Acaras stay small and protect their fry.
