Infant gorillas are smaller than human infants when they're born. Gorilla moms have a roughly 8.5-month long gestation period, and infants weight about 1.4 – 1.8 kg (4 lb) when they're born. That's half the weight of the average human infant! However, gorillas grow faster and reach maturity around 12 years old.

Like all mammals, newborn gorillas feed by drinking their mother's milk, so they don't need their teeth right away. As infants begin to eat solid foods, their baby teeth, or deciduous teeth, will grow in. Eventually they'll lose their baby teeth and grow adult teeth

Like humans, gorillas reproduce slowly, giving birth to only one baby at a time and then raising that infant for several years before giving birth again

Gorillas love their loved ones so much that a mother takes care off and natures its baby with breast milk, the baby clutches to her back or chest most times and also sleeps in their mothers nest until the age of 3-4 years when they can sleep in their own nest but still next to the mothers nest.
