The early morning sun draws a clan of meerkats out of their burrow. It's time for a snack. Meerkats forage communally, but unlike other social species, they don't share their meals so it's every mongoose for themselves. Although they are well-equipped to dig out tasty insects, young meerkats learn the hard way that some prey bites back!
