Mu Ko Chang National Park is located in southeastern Thailand, in the Gulf of Thailand off the coast of Trat Province. It comprises more than forty islands, the largest of which is Ko Chang, the third largest in the country after Phuket and Samui. It is about 30 km long and 14 km wide. Other well-known islands include Ko Chang Noi, Ko Wai, Ko Klum, Ko Lao Ya, and Ko Rang.

The park was founded in 1982 and covers approximately 650 square kilometers, of which about 70% is sea area. The islands are mountainous, with a maximum height of 740 meters. The granite rocks of the archipelago were formed more than 200 million years ago, their slopes are covered with tropical forests, and mangrove thickets grow in the coastal areas.

Ko Chang is famous for its waterfalls, streams, bays, and long beaches. Between the islands lie coral reefs rich in marine life. The fauna is diverse: 29 species of mammals (macaques, lorises, deer, wild pigs, civets, mongooses), 74 species of birds, including endemic species such as the white heron, hornbill, bulbul, and oriole. Reptiles include Indian monitor lizards, turtles, tree frogs, and king cobras. Underwater, there are corals, sea anemones, starfish, fish, sea turtles, and giant mollusks.

There are trails, campsites, and tent camps for tourists, as well as walks to waterfalls and sea excursions. The park's main office is located near Dan Kao Pier. Mu Ko Chang combines rich biodiversity with recreational opportunities while preserving its pristine nature.
