This tree climbing animal is a marsupial a mammal with a pouch for the development of offspring. thought koalas look fuzzy,their hair is more like coarse wool of a sheep.
It is it is the only extent representative of the family phascolarctidae and it's closest living relative are the wombat. the collage is found in coastal areas of the mainlands eastern and southern regions,inhabiting queensland,new South wales,Victoria,and South Australia.


it is easily recognisable by its short out,. tailless body and large had with round, fluffy ears and large, spoon shape nose.


the collage had a body length of 60-85 cm. for colour ranges from silver grey to chocolate brown. koylas from the northern population are typically smaller and lighter in colour than their counterparts further south. this population possible are separate species but this is disputed.

they are associate animals and bonding excess only between mothers and dependent of spring adult males communicate with that intimidates rivals and attractmates. males mark their presence with secrection from scent glands located on their chest.


being marsupials,koalas give birth to underdeveloped young that crawl into their mother pouches,where they stay for the first six to seven months of their lives.

these young koalas,known as Joey's,are fully werned around a year old koalas have few natural predators and parasites,but are threatened by various pathogens,such as chlamydiaceae bacteria and the koala retrovirus
