Welcome back to the channel! In this video, I take you on a full fish room tour — but not a typical one. Instead of showing tanks as they are today, I tell the stories behind my four favorite aquatic projects of 2025. These are ecosystems that grew, struggled, collapsed, recovered, and evolved over hundreds of days, driven by biology, time, and natural balance rather than heavy technology.

In the video, you’ll see a 420-day tropical river aquarium develop from bare substrate into a layered, self-regulating ecosystem filled with plants, fish, shrimp, snails, and predators. From explosive plant growth and algae blooms to crayfish, guppy population control, heatwave losses, and recovery through natural regulation, this tank shows how fragile and resilient ecosystems can be at the same time.

We also shrink the Danube River into a single glass jar paludarium. Collected directly from nature, this tiny world contains copepods, planarian worms, mayfly nymphs, freshwater limpets, moss, plants, and rubber ducky isopods — all interacting in a balanced micro-ecosystem. It’s a reminder that even the smallest containers can hold entire worlds when given patience and restraint.

In addition, you’ll get a look at multiple long-running ecosystem jars, a thriving Neocaridina shrimp colony, and the Amazon-inspired tank that nearly failed. Algae outbreaks, fish losses, mystery fry, and one “dangerous” decision changed everything — turning a collapsing system into one of the healthiest tanks in the room.

Finally, we return to the Neckar Bowl insect ecosystem, where dragonfly larvae, snails, and microorganisms reveal how predator–prey relationships and nutrient cycles work even in the smallest aquatic environments.
This video is about real ecosystems, not perfection. No CO₂ systems. No bottled shortcuts. Just observation, patience, and learning when not to interfere.
