Here's another way to get rid of that crusty red algae that's sometimes shows up in freshwater aquariums, but you may still have to remove the fish if they can't tolerate lower pH levels. In this case, I left the fish in the tank and the algae vanished. I believe this is Hildenbrandia Rivularis and it's essentially a freshwater coralline red algae. This is part 2 of 2 in a series.
