???? DEBATE "Do dogs have hair or fur?" Let's settle that debate in this one-minute information-packed video! Did you know that both HAIR and FUR have the SAME chemical composition? BOTH are made up of keratin and protein. The primary difference is the word usage. The hair of non-human mammals is referred to as FUR. While humans are said to have HAIR and hair is a characteristic of ALL MAMMALS. FUR is in reference to ANIMALS ONLY. A #dogs FUR provides an insolation barrier between cold and warm temperatures. But in humans, our HAIR does not regulate our body temperature whatsoever. So there IS a difference!
Your #dog is proud of his fur, so don't ever de-value it and call it HAIR.
That's his FUR and it PROTECTS HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE.

Dog HAIR CARE. Bath your dog at least every month and see what happens. How to correct skin problems your dog may be suffering from. First, you need to learn what type of coat. your dog has. Your dog falls into one of these 3 coat types. Did you know there are really only 3 dog coat types? Short, Medium, and Long.
It is essential to understand a few things about the skin of all dogs in order to maintain the 3 dog coat types and proper care requirements.
Short-haired dogs require weekly brushing and bathing every 21 days to maintain optimal skin and coat health.

Medium-haired dogs require Bi-weekly brushing and bathing every 21 days to maintain optimal skin and coat health. Dogs with this coat type often have a long, dormant stage of hair growth which means there is a period of time every year or more… that the coat stops growth.
This is a big reason why we never want to shave the medium coat.
If we shave it, and the undercoat grows longer than to top coat…it will never recover and chronic skin issues will often result.
Trimming the hair too short… like say on a Schnauzer…
Could lead to ingrown hairs and blocked hair follicles, hindering the flow of sebum.

Long-haired dogs require Bi-weekly brushing and bathing every 21 days or sooner to maintain optimal skin and coat health.
