How I Make Substrate for My Reptiles

Hi everyone, today's video is all about how I make a substrate blend for my reptiles. There are great store-bought options, but this is cheaper. And if you need a lot of substrate, it is a LOT cheaper. I use a combination of organic top soil, eco earth, sphagnum moss, washed play sand, and coco chip, but there are other options, too! Your research should not stop with me, so make sure you check out other sources as well. ALSO! Each species is going to have different requirements, so keep that in mind. This substrate blend can also be used for the gorilla glue method of background building (use moist) and the expanding foam & silicone method of background building (use dry). Lastly, to make your substrate bioactive be sure to use leaf litter and a clean-up crew consisting of isopods and springtails. Make sure you are adding to the soil if you want a clean-up crew (I use Josh's Frogs bio-booster and clean up crew cuisine). Okay, I think that's everything. Thanks for watching!
