Frogs are amphibians of the order Anura, found in many parts of the world, especially in humid areas and near water sources. They have thin, moist skin, which allows gas exchange through the skin. Most frog species have long, strong hind legs, adapted for jumping and swimming.

Frogs have a special life cycle with metamorphosis: from egg → tadpole (lives in water, breathes through gills) → froglets (grow legs, develop lungs) → adult frogs (breathe through lungs and skin, live both on land and in water).

They are carnivores, mainly hunting insects, worms and small animals, and play an important role in the food chain. Some species are capable of secreting toxins through their skin to defend themselves.
