Join Aqua Alex for this week's species profile! The fish I am going to discuss today is a very POPULAR fish in the freshwater aquarium hobby! It is known as a sucker fish and a algae eater. As it matures though it loses it's taste for algae. I am talking about the Common Plecostomus or Common Pleco. The Common Pleco can be seen in every fish store and pet store aquariums and people bring these home to their aquarium. These guys can get huge up to 3' and produce a shit ton of waste.
