How cute are these prairie dogs? Prairie dogs have always been one of my favorite North American animals, I mean, how could they not be? These little rodents belong to the family Sciuridae, making them relatives to squirrels, chipmunks, and groundhogs! These chubby little mammals are herbivores, meaning they feed on vegetation. It's not uncommon to see these creatures foraging for food around the openings of their burrows. Have you ever seen prairie dogs before?
