From picky eating habits to being a bit shy, they’re not always the “beginner-friendly” snakes people assume. But don’t worry; there are plenty of other incredible snakes out there that might just be your perfect fit.

In this video, I introduce you to five snakes that give you all the charm without the ball python quirks. First up, the Leopard Boa – this is a stunning and mellow species that’s smaller than most boas, making them a manageable pet. Next, there’s the Carpet Python, known for its beautiful patterns and active nature; they’re a great choice if you want a snake that’s a bit more interactive.

We also have the Dumerils Boa, an impressive, docile snake that’s known for its calm temperament and lovely earthy coloration. For those wanting something smaller, check out the Spotted Python – they’re easygoing, compact, and not too hard to care for, perfect for first-time snake keepers. Last but not least, the Bull Snake is a bold choice for those who want a snake with personality. Known for their big appetite and engaging demeanor, Bull Snakes are fun to watch and interact with.
