This is my first attempt at an ecosystem bowl. I think it went well and I had a lot of fun setting it up. This is an extremely easy and cost-effective setup that anyone can do. Due to the nature of the tank as well it will also be extremely easy to maintain. I never have setup a Walstad method enclosure of any kind so I’m curious how the bowl will age. It will be interesting to see how the plants cope under these conditions.
Id like to state as well that I won’t be putting any fish in this setup. I think that in certain cases fish can absolutely live quite happily in some ecosystem tanks, but they must be the correct species. Large fish such as goldfish for example cannot be kept in these conditions under any circumstances.
