Creating the PERFECT AQUARIUM!

Creating the perfect aquarium means going back to nature; back to the planted aquarium, back to the natural aquarium. The perfect fish tank starts from the bottom up, just as nature does. Dirt/Mud/etc... are needed for the aquarium substrate of a natural aquarium. There is a connection between a natural and planted aquarium in that the natural aquarium soon grows to be a planted aquarium, if it is given the proper attention, just as a pool of water in nature grows plants.
Using Nature as an exemplar we realize that the water is teeming with life, just as ours.
So, in making a home for fish, try to stay as close to nature as possible. I challenge you to do this and before long you will be amazed!


Who is Father Fish?

Lou Foxwell adopted the role of Father Fish many years ago when he opened a tropical fish store as a retirement business. Prior to this, he served as a missionary for 25 years, following in his father's footsteps by ministering to a congregation of deaf worshipers.
Lou fondly recalls his grandmother in Berlin, Germany, who inspired his love for fish keeping as a child. As a founder and original board member of the National Aquarium, Lou played a significant role in its development, serving as chair of the Community Relations Committee and participating in hiring the first Director of the Aquarium.
With extensive experience across nearly every level of the fish industry, Father Fish offers a wealth of knowledge and products, including plants, soil supplements, and more, to enhance your aquarium experience.
