This short film shows the wonderful beauty of mushrooms growing in temperate forests. Each year during autumn, mushrooms in all shapes and sizes rise up from the ground.
Using time lapse photography, the fascinating behaviour of growing mushrooms is revealed. Fly agarics expand their caps, earth stars open up like flowers, and stinkhorns erupt from their devil's eggs.
Shot by Tim Wijgerde in Horsterwold Forest (The Netherlands), one of Europe's largest deciduous forests, between 2019 and 2021 during autumn.
Cameras used:
- Blackmagic Pocket 4K
- Sony AX100
- DJI Mavic Air 1
- Nikon D5000
- Nikon D610
