My Perfect Freshwater Jungle Tank Substrate ???? | 130 Day Aquascape Evolution
Looking for the perfect substrate for a lush freshwater jungle tank? Here's my personal method:
✅ Start with nutrient-rich garden soil
(you can also use pond soil to make sure there are no artificial fertilizers or manure or something like this in there)
✅ Add a layer of gravel
(i like to re-use gravel from old fish tanks, because it has all the beneficial bacteria in it already)
✅ Cap it with white play sand
(Use play sand instead of aquarium sand, this will save you tons of money)
Then it's time to build the hardscape, plant your stem plants, and let nature do the rest.
???? At 14 days, it’s already thriving…
???? But at 130 days? It’s a stunning underwater jungle.
???? Watch the full evolution in the pinned video and see how a well-planned substrate fuels long-term aquascape success.
