The honey badger, known for its tenacity and fearlessness, is an omnivorous animal that eats a variety of foods including insects, small mammals, birds, snakes, and fruits. They have thick skin that helps protect them from bites and stings, and a gland near their anus that produces a strong-smelling secretion to mark their territory and deter predators. Honey badgers are solitary animals and excellent diggers, capable of excavating tunnels up to 10 feet long. Despite their tough reputation, they are listed as a "species of least concern" by the IUCN, but are threatened by habitat loss and hunting. Honey badgers are fascinating creatures with incredible survival skills.
