Pangolins are named from the Malay world 'penggulung' which means 'roller' - the mammals action in defence from its predators. But unfortunately, this does not stop poachers from getting to them. Pangolins are considered to have extreme medicinal value and to be a delicacy in some countries. They have been classified as 'critically endangered' by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. in both national and international laws, making them the most trafficked mammals in the world!
