Hippos are known as one of the most dangerous animals in the world and cause over 500 human deaths annually. These giants can reach an average height of 160 cm and weigh up to 3200 kg. They can hold their breath underwater for up to five minutes and sleep without surfacing. They cannot swim due to their 15% body fat and high muscle density, which makes them unable to float. Instead, they walk on the bottom of the water using their legs. Although they primarily feed on vegetables and fruits, hippos can still attack animals and humans. They can even threaten animals that come to drink water.
