The common toad (Bufo bufo) is an abundant amphibian over there in The Netherlands. In this short, I explain how they reproduce. The males clamp onto the females in a process known as amplexus, after which the eggs are fertilised externally. A single female can produce thousands of eggs, which are released in strings. After several weeks, tadpoles emerge.
