The small fine leaves would look great with a Ludwigia or another round leaf plant. Mayaca Vandelli is a great plant for baby fish or fry. We have kept this plant in unheated tanks that got down to as low as 50. (I can't tell you how long it would live that cold. You could even try this plant with Axolotls as it doesn't need much light to grow and can take the cold. I would rate the difficulty of this plant as a 2 or 3 out of 10.
